Harry Goddard, Level 3 New College student, has been working with Threshold Housing Link on an interactive photographic exhibition project. Threshold are a local, independent charity that works to positively tackle the homelessness issues in Swindon.

The exhibition features Fine Art quality images, created and captured by homeless individuals of Threshold Swindon. Each art image is accompanied with a QR code, so that visitors to the exhibition can scan the code on their mobile device and instantly be connected to the artist. They will be able to hear a short personal story of what they describe is the most precious thing they have in their possession.

Harry is studying OCR Level 3 Film and TV Production at New College and has been actively involved in helping produce the exhibition. He has been working on individual edits, integrating image and audio narrative for each contribution in the photography exhibition. Harry has also created a Facebook countdown to the exhibition campaign, where Facebook Followers receive an individual clip each day, leading up the exhibition launch.

Business Manager at Threshold, Michael Keenan, spoke of the work Harry has been doing on the project. He said: “It’s been a delight to work with Harry, we are so impressed with his work, that we granted him scope to develop his own creative brief with us here at Threshold.”

Harry worked on the brief alongside New College Media Lecturer, Ian Szczebiot and also came up with the idea of creating a promotional video for the exhibition.

Ian commented: “It has been great for Harry to gain valuable work experience with external clients whilst helping a local charity organisation. This gave him the chance to use the skills developed on his Film and TV Production course in a professional context and showcase his talents and professional attitude. I hope this type of networking will help Harry in his pursuit of a career as a freelance photographer when he graduates next year.”

The exhibition is open daily from Friday 24th November, through to New Year’s Eve, in The Plaza, Brunel Shopping Centre, Swindon.
