Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after an incident which took place between 4.45pm and 5pm on Tuesday 18 October 2016 in Swindon.

An elderly man was arriving home in his vehicle and parked on his driveway on Braemar Close, Lawn.

He was followed by a white van, smaller than a Transit, which parked at the bottom of the road before it moved and then parked at the top of the road.

An unknown man then got out of the van and got into the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle whilst the victim was still inside.  The man then said to the victim: “Have you got any money for me?”

When the victim refused the man snatched the victim’s bag which contained cash, bank cards and a diary.  He then ran off.

The suspect, who took the bag, is described as: white, of medium build, having dark, short hair, aged in his 20’s and wearing a dark, hooded fleece.

Another man was seen in the driver’s seat of the white van.  He is described as white, aged in 50’s,  partially bald with brown/grey hair around the side of his head, of medium build and wearing a long sleeved, dark coloured top.

Det Con Sonia Marsh said:  “This is a fairly busy residential area, someone may have seen these men.  Do you recognise their descriptions? “Also, did you see a van of this description in this area around 5pm on this date?”

If you saw this incident or can help with any information please contact DC Sonia Marsh at Gablecross Police Station on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
