Man dies following collision near Beckhampton

A 32-year-old motorcyclist has sadly died following a collision near Beckhampton this morning.

Emergency services attended the collision between a motorcycle and a van on the A361 between Beckhampton roundabout and Bishops Cannings at 7.30am.

The male motorcyclist, who is local to the area, died at the scene.  Formal identification has not yet taken place. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

The Honda GL motorcycle and the van, a Ford Transit both caught fire following the collision.

The driver of the van, a man from Devizes, sustained only minor injuries and attended hospital as a precaution.

Road closures were put in place while collision investigators attended the scene. The scene remains closed at this time while debris is cleared from the carriageway.

Anyone who witnessed the collision who has not already spoken to police, should call 101.
