A 41 year old man has been charged with attempted murder and appeared at Magistrate’s Court following an incident at a residential address in Swindon.
Bikash Gurung, aged 41 (dob 13 October 1975) from Coate, appeared at Swindon Magistrate’s Court this morning (31 December 2016) charged with the attempted murder of a 36 year old woman at a residential address in Coate.
He was remanded in custody and will next appear on 3 February 2017 at Swindon Crown Court.
The 36 year old woman is critical but in a stable condition in hospital and the family are being supporting specially trained police officers.
The incident occurred at approximately 9.30pm on 29 December 2016. Police attended a residential address in Coate following a report of a serious assault.
A 36 year old woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Great Western Hospital by land ambulance. She was later transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol and remains in a critical condition.
