M4 reopens following earlier collision in which one man died

Wiltshire Police can confirm that one man has died following a collision on the M4 this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene, near to Leigh Delamere services, shortly after 5am this morning following a collision involving a Nissan Qashqai and a lorry.

The man, who was travelling in the Nissan, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Formal identification has not yet taken place. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.

Two other males received injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

The road was closed westbound at junction 17 to allow for a full collision investigation to take place.

It has now reopened.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should call police on 101.
