The sponsorship deal between the theatre and Imagine Cruising secures a brand-new partnership which is set to benefit both parties during the run up to the Youth Project, which takes place in August.

Laura Reynolds, Marketing Communications Manager for Imagine said:

“We are delighted to sponsor the Summer Youth Project 2017, as this is another fantastic opportunity for us to further enhance our commitment to supporting the local community. The Summer Youth Project shares the same values as us in helping to develop young people, in this case through their love of performing arts, and we can’t wait to watch this year’s production of Summer Holiday”.

Imagine Cruising are an award-winning provider of bespoke and tailor-made cruise holidays at incredible value across the world. Their dedicated cruise experts have 15 years’ experience in creating brand-new, exclusive cruise holidays. This alongside their relationship with the world’s best cruise lines, leading airlines, and iconic hotels, means they can create the perfect getaway for their customers – with luxurious added extras like free balcony upgrades, drinks packages and hotel stays in some of the most amazing cities in the world.

Theatre Marketing Manager Laura James said; “I am delighted that Imagine Cruising have agreed to come on board with us as sponsors of this year’s Summer Youth Project. They are a fantastic local company and this marks the start of an exciting partnership. With this year’s project being ‘Summer Holiday’, it seems the perfect match and I know there’s lots we can do over the coming months to benefit Imagine as well as provide vital support for the project.”

The aim of Summer Youth Project is to provide up to 250 local young people, aged 9 – 21, with the opportunity to work together in a professional theatre. The project culminates in five performances of a full-scale musical under the supervision of a highly skilled creative team including a professional director, choreographer, musical director, musicians and technical team all in less than 2 weeks. Based on the 1963 film starring Cliff Richard, Summer Holiday tells the story of four London Bus mechanics who strike up a deal with London Transport. Don and his friends transform a double-decker bus into a holiday caravan and journey through Paris, the Alps, Italy and then Greece. Summer Holiday is the ultimate party musical, provides a real taste of Great British nostalgia and is full of musical hits, including In The Country, I Could Easily Fall in Love with You, Bachelor Boy, On the Beach and of course the legendary Summer Holiday.

With hundreds of local young people expected to attend auditions this Sunday 7 May at the Phoenix Theatre, New College, Summer Holiday promises to be the Wyvern’s best Project yet.

Summer Holiday will open at the Wyvern Theatre on Thu 24 August and run until Sat 26 August 2017. Book tickets today at swindontheatres.co.uk or by calling the Ticket Office on 01793 524 481.
