Hop on your bikes this Easter to explore Swindon’s cycle paths with a free cycle orienteering challenge! Back by popular demand, Swindon Bicycle Users Group have organised the event to encourage people to explore their local area by bike. With a brand new cycle orienteering map you can navigate your way around Swindon on traffic-free cycle paths and discover so much more from the saddle of your bike.

As part of a group or as an individual you can choose between 1, 2 or 3 hour rides (must be finished by 3pm). Collect orienteering points along the way and hand your points cards in at the checkpoint when you finish – prizes awarded for the three highest scores in each time category.

All you need is a roadworthy bike, but we have volunteers on site to check it’s safe to ride. We also recommended that you carry a pump and a spare inner tube or puncture repair kit just in case!

The Richard Jefferies Museum are kindly hosting the event and will be providing some lovely homemade cakes and refreshments. They’ll be lots on site to enjoy if your legs are tired from cycling. Come along and find out how easy it is to get around Swindon by bike.

Event: Easter Cycle Orienteering Event
Location: Start at Richard Jefferies Museum, Marlborough road, SN3 6AA (near Coate Water)
Date: Easter Monday 17th April, 10am- 2pm
Details: FREE event suitable for all the family

Sign up in advance and collect a free goody bag from Richard Jefferies on the day! There will be limited on-the-day entries. Sign up here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/easter-cycle-orienteering-tickets-32235032851?aff=efbevent

We strongly encourage participants to travel to the start by bike. Please note that there is no parking available on the day at the Richard Jefferies Museum. We advise that if you are coming by car to park at the nearby Coate Water County Park (£2.00 per day).

Swindon Bicycle Users Group (BUG) is the voice for cycling in Swindon. A voluntary group working to make Swindon a better place for everyone to enjoy by bike. To get involved or find out more please find us on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/Swindon-BUG-1583148758589992/
