Swindon Area Green Party and beauty salon The Rose Room are inviting Swindon’s residents to donate unwanted clothes, soap, and water for Christmas boxes that will be given to homeless people living in Swindon.

The boxes will be distributed by members of Swindon Area Green Party and The Rose Room at the fountains in the town centre at 11:00 on Saturday 17th December.

Hats, scarves, and gloves are particularly welcome, and residents are also welcome to create their own boxes including a message to let the recipient know that someone is thinking of them at Christmas.

Donations or boxes can be left with the Darkroom Espresso café on Faringdon Road up until Friday 16th December.

Donations of money, tinned food, or sandwich fillers are also welcome as The Rose Room will be hosting a soup and sandwich day for Swindon’s homeless people at 10:30 on Sunday 18th December at their salon on Devizes Road. Donations for this can be left either at Darkroom Espresso or The Rose Room.

Both initiatives are supported by Swindon-based homeless charity Threshold Housing Link, the Salvation Army, and the Darkroom Espresso café.
