Ambala will launch its new store on Havelock Street on Saturday 21 February at 10am, bringing more than six decades of heritage to the town.
Customers visiting for the first time will be offered free Asian sweets when they download and sign up to the company’s digital loyalty card. The promotion forms part of a wider opening weekend celebration.
Large queues are expected, with previous store launches drawing strong interest from customers keen to attend on the first day.
Operations Director Prem said:
“We are incredibly excited to be opening in Swindon this weekend.
“The response from the public so far has been very positive, and we are expecting a fantastic turnout over the opening days.”
He added:
“We are proud of our heritage and the quality of our products, and we are delighted to be bringing Ambala to the town centre. We would encourage customers to arrive early!”
A programme of entertainment has been arranged across both days. On Saturday, visitors can expect live music, traditional dhol drum performances and a DJ from BBC Asian Network.

Sunday will focus on families, with children’s activities taking place inside and outside the store throughout the day.
Tara Cunningham, Marketing Manager for Ambala, said:
“This opening is about celebrating community, heritage and togetherness.
“We want people from all backgrounds to come down, experience our sweets and savouries, and enjoy the atmosphere we have planned for the weekend.”

Ambala was founded in 1965 and is regarded as one of the UK’s most established names in traditional Indian sweets and vegetarian savoury snacks. The Swindon branch forms part of the company’s continued expansion across the UK.
