Fiona Scott, founder of Scott Media, has been appointed Group Leader for a new Cotswold Networking chapter, which will become the organisation’s first group serving businesses in Royal Wootton Bassett and Swindon.
The group is due to launch in September as Cotswold Networking continues its expansion across the region. Founded by Angela Roberts in 2022 following the Covid-19 pandemic, the organisation was established to help businesses rebuild connections and encourage collaboration after lockdown restrictions.
Since then, it has grown to eight monthly groups across Malmesbury, Cirencester, Cheltenham, Bath, Bristol, Witney, Corsham and Worcester.
The Royal Wootton Bassett chapter will be the network’s ninth. Monthly meetings will be held from 7pm to 9pm at The View Gallery, owned by local businessman Jon White of Gold Traders.
The networking events will follow the organisation’s round-the-table format, allowing each attendee the opportunity to introduce themselves and make business connections. Guest speakers from within the membership will also give presentations.
The official launch is planned for Thursday 17th September, when Fiona Scott and Jon White will both give presentations. Fiona will take over permanently as Group Leader from October.
Fiona Scott, founder of Scott Media, said:
“I’m delighted to be the face of this new group based in Royal Wootton Bassett and to be supporting my colleague in business, Angela Roberts, who, in Cotswold Networking, has built a brand to envy.
“Angela truly understands the importance of building relationships in business and supporting and empowering each other to achieve our goals.”
Angela Roberts said expanding into Wiltshire had been a long-term ambition for the organisation.
She said:
“Royal Wootton Bassett and Swindon have a strong, lively business community, and opening here stretches us beyond our Cotswold heartland and into Swindon for the very first time, reaching a whole new pool of businesses we cannot wait to welcome in.
“Fiona is one of the best-connected PR professionals in the region, with deep roots in the local business and media landscape, and we are absolutely thrilled she is taking the helm. Fiona knows everyone, and everyone knows Fiona. There is no better person to build this community.”
Applications have now opened for Founder Memberships, priced at £40 plus VAT per month. Businesses joining before the launch will receive membership benefits immediately but will not begin paying until September.
The membership package includes a profile on the Cotswold Networking website, access to an online meeting before launch, complimentary entry to the opening event, a founder’s goodie bag and access to the group’s online Circle community.
