Two e-fits have been released following an attempted robbery which occurred in Swindon.

At approximately 10pm on 8 November, two men approached a 28-year-old woman on the grass area between Axbridge Close and Welcombe Avenue.

They assaulted the woman before attempting to steal her ring. They then ran off in the direction of the Torrington Court flats.

The first man is described as black, approximately 5 ft 11 inches tall, of stocky build. He was wearing a black puffa jacket and dark trousers. He had some facial hair.

The second man is described as lighter skinned than the first man, taller and of skinny build with dark eyes. He had a short crew cut and was wearing a light coloured tracksuit.

Detective Constable Mike Armishaw said: “This was a nasty incident, and the woman sustained bruising and grazes to her face, arm and back.

“As part of our enquiries we have produced two e-fit images and would like to hear from anyone who recognises the two people pictured, or anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen the two men running from the scene.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
