CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide 2019 was published yesterday, Thursday 13th September, now in it’s 46th edition the Good Beer Guide remains the UK’s best selling beer and pub guide, tens of thousands of copies sold each year.

Out of more than 50,000 pubs in Britain, only 4,500 of the finest outlets for real ale are chosen for inclusion in the Good Beer Guide.

So, for the Glue Pot in Emlyn Square, The Railway Village, to have earned a place in the Guide for the 11th consecutive year is a remarkable achievement, and speaks volumes for the consistent quality of their ales 8 real ales!

Jonathan Crisp The Glue stated “We are simply overjoyed by this important recognition which brings in good, real ale, seeking people from all over the place, our proximity to the rail station & our consistent entry in the Guide often make us the first port of call to a visitor to the town. We our proud of our range of quality real ales, carefully nurtured to perfection, along with our wide selection of traditional ciders, which has also gained the Glue Pot the prestigious regional CAMRA Swindon & North Wiltshire Cider Pub of the Year award for the last 3 years.”

The Glue Pot remains unashamedly one of the last bastions of the traditional British pub.

This years guide features over 1,750 breweries of all shapes and sizes, which is testament to the increasing appeal of traditional real ale, and makes it all the more of a shame that around 3 pubs close their doors for good every day.

Pubs that are the heart and soul of our society and culture! 1 in every 3 pounds spent over the bar goes in taxation – beer duty, VAT & business rates.
