60 prestigious Swindon based employers have signed up to showcase their employment and apprenticeship opportunities to Swindon’s enthusiastic young people at JobFest on 6th March 2018. These local and national employers are all actively looking for new talent from the Swindon area to join their teams.  The 60 employers will be bringing company information, job and apprenticeship vacancies and their products to help inspire jobseekers to consider their employment sector.

Swindon JobFest, funded by Swindon Borough Council, and sponsored by Knorr Bremse, GLL and SWLEP, is for any jobseeker to attend, especially young people who are leaving education and looking for inspiration about the world of work – there are over 400 Year 11 & 12 students attending.  There will be heaps of networking opportunities, along with the chance to talk to current apprentices about their own experiences, discover different job sectors that might not have been considered and help in understanding what to do to start a new career journey.

Companies such as Chipside Ltd, will be there as they are expanding their core operations and keen to find new Swindon based talent. Nationwide, Network Rail, Zurich & Bloor Homes will be showcasing their current apprenticeship schemes. Honda Logistics and Honda UK Manufacturing both recognise the importance of ‘investing in future engineers’.  Great Western Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are excited to be attending JobFest this year and ‘it’s in their strategic plans to motivate and engage with the young people of Swindon’.  SocMedSup.com say that JobFest is giving vital opportunities to ‘the next generation to access information and resources especially in digital industries, which can be hard to source’.  Fayju want to ‘see more game developers in Swindon’ and ‘It’s important to engage with young people as early as possible in their job search and JobFest allow us to do this,’ says Swindon based Frankly Recruitment.

JobFest is all set to inspire the next generation to get the jobs that they want!

A complete list of companies who are attending can be found on the event website www.jobfestswindon.co.uk.

It will be held on Tuesday 6th March 2018, 2.30pm-6pm STEAM, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon, SN2 2EY.

JobFest will be held during the Government’s 11th National Apprenticeship Week initiative (NAW 2018) that runs from 5th– 9th March 2018. During the week employers and apprentices from across England will come together to celebrate the success of apprenticeships whilst encouraging even more people to choose apprenticeships as a pathway to a great career.
