The Brunel shopping centre is calling for the town’s fashionistas to show Swindon what they’re made of at the Love Fashion weekend between 11 and 13 May and to nominate people for styling.

Over the weekend there will be lots of fashion-focussed fun across the centre with beauty bars, hair and make-up demonstrations, giveaways, a VIP night stylist and a silent disco.

Kicking off on the evening of Friday 11th May is the Recycle My Style VIP night hosted by The Secret Stylist, Natasha Musson, where she will be restyling two lucky Swindonians who have been nominated by their loved ones.

Natasha will be showing shoppers how to take their looks from day to night and she will be showcasing some of the top trends for the summer from shops in The Brunel.  There will also be a swap rail for ticket holders.  Everyone who brings an item of clothing, or a bag, will be able to swap it for something else brought for the rail.  Any leftover items will be donated to The Brunel’s chosen charity, the Uplands Charitable Trust.

Tickets for the Recycle My Style VIP night must be booked in advance and cost £7, including a goody bag.

With the sun now trying to break through the rainclouds again, The Brunel will be holding a festival zone in The Arcade all weekend for all the family to get into the spirit of summer.  Shoppers can try out the latest craze for body marbling, as well as glitter and face gems, metallic tattoos and neon and UV face painting.

There will also be express mini makeovers and treatments available across the three days.

And it’s not all female fashion either – on Sunday 13 May, The Man Cave appears, dedicated to the best in men’s grooming, fashion and lifestyle.

Jane Stewart, deputy centre manager, said: “Our Love Fashion weekend is set to be the most stylish weekend of the year.  It will let shoppers get to grips with the latest fashions and how to make them work for everyone, as well as testing out some of the more extreme trends such as body marbling and glitter and gem face paints.
