7800 Class No. 7821 Ditcheat Manor, a green locomotive, was moved out of the Steam Museum and replaced Hinton Manor at McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Swindon. This move is now complete and open to the public for viewing.

McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Swindon shares its site with STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway and the shopping centre itself is housed in the beautifully renovated Grade II listed buildings of the Great Western Railway Works.

A new train, the Swindon-built GWR Class 2800 No. 2818 has taken Ditcheat Manor’s place at the Steam museum having been transported down from the National Railway Museum, York. The 2818 returning to the site where it was built (Great Western Railway Works) more than a century ago, is a momentous occasion in Swindon’s history

Tina Cumpstey, Centre Manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon commented: “We are delighted welcome Ditcheat Manor to McArthurGlen Swindon after saying a fond farewell to our much loved steam train, Hinton Manor. The centre is well known for its association with the Great Western Railway and the 21st August was a memorable day in our 2018 calendar.”
