On Friday 17 November North Swindon MP, Justin Tomlinson, hosted a public drop-in event at his offices so that Council Highways officers and the Police could hear from local residents about their concerns over safety on Thamesdown Drive and parking related congestion on Redhouse Way.

Highways officers outlined plans to install CCTV cameras at junctions on Thamesdown Drive to deter red-light running which is the issue of greatest concern locally.

The first cameras will be installed at the Orbital Centre junction before the end of the year and there will be a public awareness campaign to follow.

Feedback regarding both Thamesdown Drive and Redhouse Way is now being analysed and officers will be liaising with local Councillors over future plans.
