15 drivers caught speeding on Thamesdown Drive by Police

This morning, local officers from Team 3 North CPT conducted numerous traffic stops on Thamesdown Drive in response to concerns raised about traffic offences being committed.

As a result of this, a number of drivers were stopped:

5x Endorsable tickets issued for driving at excess speed – totalling £500 in fines and 15 points on drivers’ licences. The fastest speed recorded was 59mph.

1x Endorsable traffic ticket issued for contravening a red light – £100 fine and 3 points issued.

9x Drivers were given verbal warnings for the speed of their driving.

A further 11 vehicles were stopped and checked to ensure they had unobstructed number plates, sufficient tyre tread and working lights & indicators.

These speed checks come in response to concerns raised from members of the public about traffic offences being committed down Thamesdown Drive, with a spate of road traffic collisions taking place in a short period of time.
