Family-owned business The Carpet Shop marked the official launch of its new store at Orbital Shopping Park this weekend.

Welcomed to the shopping park by Justin Tomlinson MP and the centre manager, Jamie Turner, the store is the second for the Griffiths family, who opened their original shop in West Swindon 10 years ago.

Offering 150 different lines of flooring, including quality wool carpets, oak flooring and Luxury Vinyl Tiles from brands such as Hugh Mackay and Crown Floors, the team at The Carpet Shop also provide a professional fitting service.

Howard Griffiths, who runs the business alongside his wife Paulyne and son Thomas, said: “We’re so proud to be expanding the family business and, with no other carpet stores close by, Orbital is the ideal spot for us to be opening our next store.

“We pride ourselves on our first-class service, from selection through to fitting, and we can’t wait to meet all of our customers in the coming weeks.”

Jamie Turner, centre manager at Orbital Shopping Park said: “We’re always investing in the shopping park to give our shoppers a great range of stores. Along with the big brand names we offer, local businesses are equally as popular among our shoppers and I’m sure The Carpet Shop will continue to go from strength to strength here.”

MP Justin Tomlinson added: “The team at Orbital is committed to supporting our community and they’ve done some fantastic work in recent months working with local charities and investing in the children’s play park. It’s great to see Swindon businesses being supported by the park and I wish the Griffiths family the best of luck with their latest venture.”

The opening of The Carpet Shop at Orbital Shopping Park follows the launch of local independent barber shop, Route 8, which opened at the centre in December last year.
