Enquiries are being carried out following an ATM theft in Swindon wednesday night.
Sometime between midnight and 5.20am, offenders broke into the Co-Op store in Cheney Manor Road via the roof, and the inside of the ATM was ripped open. An unknown amount of cash was stolen from inside the machine.
Detective Sergeant Gary Epps said: “We are looking in to whether this incident is linked to any previous similar reports of ATM thefts we have had across the county, and further afield, and our enquiries are currently ongoing.
“I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area of Cheney Manor Road overnight – this is a fairly busy road with a number of businesses and houses so it is possible someone may have heard some suspicious activity but didn’t think to contact police at the time.”
