Wiltshire Police have released an e-fit image of a man they would like to speak to after a 14-year-old girl was approached in Swindon.

Around 4.20pm on Tuesday 20 February 2018, the young girl was walking along Standen Way when a man in a van pulled up along side her and tried to persuade her to get in to his vehicle.

A previous incident was reported on Wednesday 21 February, which saw a man follow a young girl in area nearby to where this incident took place.

PC Emma Keatings said: “This would have been a busy time of the day – so someone should have seen or heard something suspicious.

“Perhaps you saw a van acting strangely or driving slowly?

“Also, if you recognise this man in the e-fit please contact me.

“We would like to urge parents and guardians to talk to their children and stress the importance of not talking to strangers. If you are approached by anyone suspicious while out and about, please do not engage with them and call police immediately – call 999 at the time, or 101 after the incident.

“If possible, try and get a description of the driver or the vehicle.”

If you can help with our enquiries please contact PC Emma Keatings on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
