Feedback from patients at BMI The Ridgeway Hospital in Swindon has shown that 98% of those who received care there would recommend the hospital to their family and friends. In addition, 96% agree that the quality of their nursing care was very good or excellent and 91% would apply the same high rating to the standard of their accommodation.

The figures for the independent hospital in Wroughton were the findings of the independent survey operator Quality Health, which analysed responses of 2418 patients who responded to a questionnaire between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2017.

Neil Orpen, Consultant Spinal Surgeon at BMI The Ridgeway Hospital states, “As a Consultant Spinal Surgeon, I often receive feedback from patients who have been under my care, highlighting the quality of life they have since been able to enjoy. It’s pleasing to see that this extends across the board at BMI The Ridgeway Hospital. Excellent patient care can never be delivered in isolation and these statistics are testament to the focus of the staff here – from reception, physiotherapy right through to surgery and after-care. By working closely together as a team and with patients, we continue to set a high standard for rapid access to specialist treatment.”

James Lowe, Executive Director of BMI The Ridgeway Hospital states, “The figures have been well received by the 281 staff who work at the hospital and who provide care for insured, self-pay and NHS-funded patients. Over the last 18 months, the hospital has seen a number of developments including an upgraded imaging suite with a 1.5T MRI scanner, enhancing the facilities available to patients from all over Swindon & Wiltshire. In 2018, the hospital is looking forward to developing its services further, such as its women’s health offering and also welcoming a number of new consultants from specialties such as gynaecology and ophthalmology.”

The independent survey also showed high percentage scores across all assessed criteria, with ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’ for physiotherapy 90%, pharmacy 88%, and catering  89%. In addition, 94% said that their overall impression of diagnostic imaging was very good or excellent.

Quality Health also provides the same survey analysis and questions across the NHS.
