Pets at Home Swindon launches free in-store puppy classes

Pets at Home Swindon is to launch free puppy education workshops in-store to help educate new dog owners.

The Just for Puppy classes offer pet owners of young dogs help with all aspects of rearing a four legged companion, including an overview of making a puppy feel welcome in their new home, healthcare, basic grooming, nutrition and socialisation, all of which is essential to their development.

The store’s fully trained colleagues, many of whom are experienced dog owners, will help to host the events across the UK.

The Swindon store has previously provided pet and animal care advice to its youngsters for many years via its’ My Pet Pals workshops across school holidays.

The Just for Puppy workshops take place over two sessions of one hour.

Craig Timbrell, store manager at Pets at Home Swindon, said: “We understand that training a puppy is a big job for any pet owner, particularly if they’ve never had a dog before. That’s why we’ve launched these free workshops to give our customers, be they first time puppy owners or those in need of a refresher course, a helping hand when it comes to mastering the basics of raising a canine companion.”

Those attending the events can also register for the VIP Just for Puppy club, which is a new addition to its five million member strong VIP Club loyalty scheme.

As well as receiving regular offers on essential puppy items, members of the VIP Just for Puppy club also receive a handy guide to raising a pup, The Little Book of Puppy.

To join the club, simply register an email address at petsathome.com/vip, on the My VIP app or via the Pets at Home customer service team at 0800 328 4204, followed by option one to become a member.

The club is opening to existing VIP club members, as well as to new customers.
