Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was stabbed in Swindon.

The incident took place around 3pm on Saturday 8 July 2017 on the large field between Thornhill Drive, St Andrew’s Ridge and Lukas Close, Ash Brake.

The victim was stabbed in the chest with a knife and was taken to hospital with serious injuries;  he’s currently in a stable condition.

Det Sgt Scott Anger from Swindon CID said: “This incident occurred mid-afternoon in a busy area, often used by local residents and dog walkers.
“I want to reassure the community that we believe the victim knew who had stabbed him and we are thoroughly investigating this matter.
“We are appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in this area at this time.

If you can help with our enquiries please contact Swindon CID on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.

A 16-year-old local boy was arrested on suspicion of causing Grievous Bodily Harm and is currently in custody.
