The second phase of the Akers Way reconstruction, which includes a 200-metre section between Purton Road Roundabout and Nova Hreod Academy, is now complete and the Council’s contractor will start on Phase 3 from Monday (10 July). This involves a 280-metre section of the carriageway up to the Nova Hreod Academy junction.

There will be some work taking place along Akers Way towards Beaney View but access will be maintained for residents and Nova Hreod Academy. The contractor will be looking to make some additional areas available for residents’ parking.

The diversion route for the remaining phases of work at Akers Way will be via Purton Road, Moredon Road, Cheney Manor Road and Akers Way.  Access for residents and the school will be maintained during these phases. The diversion route is clearly signed in both directions for the duration of the works.

Please continued to allow extra time for your journeys.

Further information about the work is available via:www.swindon.gov.uk/akersway
