Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a shop worker was threatened with a needle after trying to stop a shoplifter in Swindon.

The incident happened around 3pm on Tuesday 13 June 2017 at the Co-op on Groundwell Road.

A unknown male took some items and as he attempted to leave the shop, without making any effort to pay, was challenged by a male member of staff.

The suspect left the store followed by the member of staff, he then held a dirty needle up to the man and threatened him with it before heading off.  The shop worker followed the suspect to Drove Road and during this time two members of the public attempted to help him stop the suspect; however once they reached Drove Road he ran off.

Pictures of a person officers would like to speak to in relation to this incident are above.

If you can help with our enquiries please contact Local Crime Investigator Ashleigh Dowdeswell on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
