A family run company, which is in it’s 3rd generation has been a victim of theft whilst visiting B&Q in Swindon.

At around 12.30pm on June 8th, the companies van was broken into where many tools were stolen, even the safe that was installed in the back of the vehicle to keep special tools in was breached.

The van broken into is a white ford transit with J&S Roofing and Building Specialist Ltd graphics down the sides in red and blue.

This theft was the second reported incident that day, whereby tools were stolen from vans whilst the owners were inside B&Q picking up materials.

The list of tools stolen are:

  • Stihl disk cutter
  • Makita leaf blower
  • Makita dab radio
  • Makita battery circular saw
  • Makita impact driver
  • Makita drill
  • Steel tool chest that was bolted down
  • Hitachi sds drill corded
  • Wicks planner
  • Bosh sander
  • Hitachi battery angle grinder
  • 4 hitachi battery’s and 2 chargers
  • 4 makita 18v battery’s and 2 chargers

Wiltshire police and B&Q security staff have been contacted and are investigating, however there is no CCTV covering this car park, which makes finding the offender(s) harder without witnesses coming forward.

These tools are vital to the business and the income of the workforce.

If you can help track down the tools and thieve(s), please call 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
