A four-point haul, rounded off by an overtime win against the Sheffield Steeldogs, confirmed top spot and sparked celebrations among players and supporters.

It marks a significant moment in the club’s history and caps a season built on consistency, defensive resilience and a settled squad that has largely remained together for several years.

Across the campaign, the Wildcats established themselves as the division’s most reliable side. They ended the regular season with 29 regulation wins and nine regulation defeats, finishing on 75 points and clear of their closest challengers.

Their defensive record proved crucial. Swindon conceded the fewest goals in the league and boasted the best penalty kill, enabling them to edge tight contests and maintain momentum during key stages of the season.

The success comes in what is an emotional year for player-coach Aaron Nell. Earlier this season, he confirmed this would be his final campaign as a player, making the league triumph a fitting landmark as he continues to lead the side from the bench.

Founded in 1986, the Wildcats have played at the Link Centre ever since, building a loyal following in the town over nearly four decades.

This latest achievement brings a national league title back to Swindon for the first time in more than twenty years and secures the current squad’s place in the club’s history.

Attendances at the Link Centre have remained strong throughout the season, with supporters turning out in numbers both home and away as the title race reached its climax.

Despite clinching the regular season crown, the campaign is not yet over. Focus now shifts to the end-of-season playoffs, where the Wildcats will look to add further silverware and round off a memorable year.
