Danny Hale, co-founder of Peach Estate Agents, will set off on Monday 24 August alongside friend Brad Looker, of security company ESS, with the pair aiming to complete the journey in five days.
Their route will take them through Bath and Minehead before joining the South West Coast Path to reach the North Devon coast.
The challenge will see the pair walk the equivalent of more than a marathon each day as they raise funds for Big Breakfast Plus, which provides a freshly cooked breakfast every morning of the year for homeless and vulnerable people from its base in Regent Circus, Swindon.
Danny said the challenge combines his love of endurance events with supporting local charities.
“We like doing crazy things, like climbing Ben Nevis, Snowdon and the big mountains in the UK, and we’ve run marathons and ultramarathons,” he said.
“We’ve often been to Woolacombe with our families so we thought we’d walk there, meet the families and kids on the beach, and raise money at the same time.”
The fundraiser follows previous support Danny has given to Big Breakfast Plus. Earlier this year, Peach Estate Agents joined forces with In410 Running Club, where Danny is a member, to hold a raffle night which raised £600 for the charity.
He now hopes the five-day trek will help take that fundraising total beyond £1,000.
Sophie Boyce, Charity Manager at Big Breakfast Plus, said: “We’re so grateful to Danny and Brad for taking on this fundraising challenge.
“All the money they raise goes directly to helping those in need in Swindon, by providing a fresh, cooked breakfast every day of the week.”
Big Breakfast Plus serves hundreds of breakfasts each week and relies on donations and fundraising to continue supporting people facing homelessness, financial hardship and food insecurity across Swindon.
Anyone wishing to support Danny and Brad’s challenge can sponsor them through their fundraising page before they begin the 250km journey to Woolacombe.
