Deliveroo, the on-demand food delivery service, is celebrating its first birthday in Swindon.

New data from Deliveroo reveals Saturday at 8pm is the most popular time for Swindon locals to order Deliveroo. Further data has shown locals love Mexican food the most, followed by Portuguese and American.

New data reveals Saturday is the night most locals prefer to stay home with a Deliveroo.

Swindon locals can’t get enough of Mexican food, with El Mexicana’s Chicken Fajita being the most popular dish in the town.

The food delivery service is now working with over 30 independent restaurants in Swindon, creating food success stories across the town.

Most popular dishes:

  • Chargrilled Chicken Marinated Fajita Style from El Mexicana

  • Piri Piri Chicken from Roosters Grill Rack

  • Classic burger from GBK

  • Fish & Chips from The Trident Fish Bar

  • Bacon Double Cheese XL Meal from Burger King

Since its launch in the town last year, more than 40 restaurants have signed up to the platform.

Deliveroo has created work for more than 50 people, with the majority of these being the Deliveroo riders who deliver your food which is cooked fresh to order and delivered to your door within 30 minutes.

Deliveroo supports local Swindon businesses, with 75 percent of its restaurant partners being local independent restaurants, creating new revenue streams for homegrown culinary talent.

In 2016 Deliveroo created £200m in additional revenue for the restaurant industry in the UK.

A spokesperson for Deliveroo, said: “After delivering meals for the last year to hungry residents in Swindon we’ve learnt a thing or two about what locals like to eat.

“We’re proud to support so many of the very best local restaurants in Swindon alongside national favourites too. It’s been truly amazing to hear stories about how local restaurants have been able to expand their businesses to other areas because of the additional revenue Deliveroo is generating for them.

“We will continue to provide the best service possible for our Swindon customers, riders and restaurant partners as we grow.”

The Restaurant Manager at Rooster’s Grill Shack said: ““Deliveroo has been great as it has attracted a different type of clientele and has taken the pressure off of the business by delivering the food”

Deliveroo is focused on providing the ultimate food delivery experience. Customers have the option to schedule orders via the Deliveroo app up to one day in advance or receive food as soon as possible between 12 noon and 11pm, and from 9am on the weekends, from a variety of leading local, independent and best-loved chain restaurants, conveniently delivered to their homes and offices.
