Swindon Film will return to the Arts Centre in Old Town with a programme of 14 movies from September.
The not-for-profit organisation will launch its latest season on Wednesday 9 September with Dragonfly, starring Brenda Blethyn, Andrea Riseborough and Jason Watkins.
The drama focuses on neglected pensioner Elsie, who develops an unexpected friendship with her younger neighbour Colleen.
But the relationship creates tensions with Elsie’s resentful and guilt-ridden son, leading to shocking consequences.
Critic Peter Bradshaw described the film as
“a haunted, social-realist drama with elements of Mike Leigh but also moments of thriller and even horror”.
The programme continues on Wednesday 23 September with From Hilde, With Love, a historical drama set in wartime Germany.
Based on a true story, it follows a German woman who becomes involved with the anti-Nazi resistance group known as the Red Orchestra.
Hilde falls in love, marries and becomes pregnant before she is captured by the Gestapo. German actress Liv Lisa Fries stars in the lead role.
Audiences will then be transported to Georgia on Wednesday 7 October with Blackbird, Blackbird, Blackberry.
The film tells the story of 48-year-old Etero, a single woman who becomes the subject of gossip in her community.
After unexpectedly falling for a man, she must decide between pursuing a relationship and retaining the independence she has long valued.
Swindon Film brings international cinema to the town, including productions which may otherwise receive limited screenings locally.
Movies are shown on a large screen at the Arts Centre, where tiered seating and refreshments are available.
Doors open at 7.15pm, with each screening starting at 7.45pm.
Full membership for the 14-film season costs £85, equivalent to just under £6 for each screening.
A pay-as-you-go membership is also available for £5, with individual tickets costing £9 or £8 for concessions. Non-members can attend as guests for £10 per film.
Membership is available to anyone aged 16 and over and can be arranged at the Arts Centre on a screening night or paid for in advance.
