The Pride Hub reopened at The Brunel on Tuesday 1st July 2025 and has since provided a dedicated space for LGBTQIA+ people from across Swindon and Wiltshire.

Located away from the busy high street, the hub offers visitors a place to meet friends, access support services, take part in activities and connect with the wider community.

Heather Pyke, who runs the Pride Hub, said:

“We wanted to be back in The Brunel Swindon because it is such a lovely space, and it also offers another level of security, as we are off the high street. The Brunel Swindon management team have been incredible, so welcoming and generous to us, even the security staff come along and pop their heads in.”

Neil Reeves, who oversees publicity for Swindon & Wiltshire Pride, said the venue had become an important community space.

“It’s such a versatile space, and is a real focal point for our community members to come and sit, chill and catch up.”

The hub is currently open every Saturday, with additional opening days during school holidays.

The milestone comes during Pride Month and ahead of the Swindon & Wiltshire Pride Festival, which is due to take place on Friday 15 August.

Around 16,500 people attended last year’s event, making it one of the largest Pride celebrations in the region.

The festival will once again begin with a march through Swindon town centre before moving to GWR Park, where visitors can enjoy live entertainment, food vendors, community stalls and family activities.

A spokesperson for The Brunel Swindon said: “We’re absolutely delighted to host the Pride Hub and celebrate this wonderful one-year milestone with them.

“The team have created such a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere within the centre, and it has been a pleasure to see the Hub go from strength to strength. We are proud to support such a vital resource for our community and look forward to seeing the centre buzzing with energy as we lead into the Pride Festival this August.”

Organisers say the anniversary highlights both the success of the hub’s return to The Brunel and the continued growth of Pride celebrations across Swindon and Wiltshire.
