Coffee Lush delivered a large collection of toys, activities and gifts to the children’s ward at Great Western Hospital.

The items were funded entirely through donations placed in the café’s charity tip jar over several months.

The gifts were provided in support of Brighter Futures, which backs services at the hospital. They will be used by the ward’s play therapist to provide comfort and distraction to children and their families.

Alongside the toys and activities, the Coffee Lush team also delivered handmade brownies for hospital staff as a thank you for their work.

The donation was not the result of a single fundraiser or large contribution. Instead, it was made possible through small amounts of spare change left by customers over time.

Whether it was coins dropped into a jar, change left after buying a drink or customers rounding up their bill, each contribution added to the final total.

The team at Coffee Lush said the effort reflects the strong community spirit in Watchfield and the surrounding area.

“We wanted to share a story that means a great deal to us,” they said.

“Every penny placed into our charity tip jar goes directly towards helping others. None of it is kept by the business.

“Seeing those small donations turn into something tangible for local children has been incredibly moving. This story isn’t really about Coffee Lush. It’s about a community of people who care.”

The café said it regularly sees customers show generosity, but visiting the hospital and seeing the impact of those donations first hand was particularly meaningful.

The charity tip jar remains in place, with future donations set to support further community and charitable causes.
