The launch event, organised by Haydon Wick Parish Council, will take place on Sunday 24 May from 1pm to 3pm.The afternoon is set to focus entirely on dogs, with competitions, prizes and opportunities for pets to socialise and play.
Residents are encouraged to enter their four-legged friends into the park’s first dog show, which will feature light-hearted categories including waggiest tail, cutest companion and playful puppy.
Janet Garratt from Janet’s Puppy Skool will judge the competition. Local business Muddy Squad is also supporting the event.
The park has been developed as a secure outdoor area where dog owners can exercise and socialise their pets safely. Organisers hope the opening will mark the beginning of a strong community space for animal lovers across North Swindon.

Councillor Vinay Manro said:
“We’re incredibly proud to officially open Goodearl Dog Park for the Haydon Wick community. This space has been created to bring people and their dogs together in a safe, welcoming environment.
“Events like this reflect everything we hoped the park would become, a place for connection, enjoyment and community spirit.”
Gina from Muddy Squad added:
“We’re absolutely delighted to have supported the build of Goodearl Dog Park and to see it come to life.
As a local dog-focused business, it means so much to be part of something that gives back to the community and creates a dedicated space for dogs to play, socialise and thrive.”
The event will take place at Goodearl Dog Park in Haydon Wick on Sunday 24 May from 1pm to 3pm.
Dog owners who wish to enter the show are being asked to book their classes in advance using the parish council’s online form.
