Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault which occurred near the Wyvern Theatre, Swindon.

At approximately 4.30am on 13 January, a 20-year-old man was punched in the face on the steps leading up to the theatre.

He sustained a fractured jaw and swelling and attended the Great Western Hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as Asian and aged in his early 20s. It is believed he was with two other men – one described as black  and wearing a dark coloured top, and another man described as white and wearing a light coloured top.

PC James Mann is investigating the incident: “We are currently looking at all available CCTV opportunities in the area and are carrying out enquiries to find the person responsible for this assault which left a man needing hospital treatment.

“Were you in the area around this time? If you have information relating to the assault or know who the man involved may be, please call the police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
