NEW water-based exercise classes are set to launch in Swindon for mums and mums-to-be. WaterBumps lessons will begin at the Swim Centre, Swindon from the first week in January.

The unique aquatic classes are specially structured to help expectant parents better prepare for child birth physically, mentally and emotionally, as well as improving the likelihood of a positive birthing experience.

Classes can be adapted to suit your individual needs, so it means that you can join WaterBumps classes right from 12 weeks through to classes after child birth.

WaterBumps is the sister company of infant swimming specialists Water Babies who have taught thousands of babies, toddlers and their carers across Gloucestershire and North Wiltshire since 2006.

Now they are expanding into pre and post-natal exercise sector led by Heather Box, a Water Babies teacher of ten years and mum of two and Claire Southworth, owner of Water Babies Gloucestershire and North Wiltshire.

33 year old Swindon-based Heather, who is a also a former fitness instructor, said: “We are really excited about bringing something new and really beneficial to all mums-to-be in Swindon. I would have really liked these classes when I was pregnant. It’s really important for mums to look after themselves during pregnancy.

“I would have been a lot less stressed than I was, particularly with my first one, when I had a lot of problems with high blood pressure. WaterBumps really helps with your physical health and wellbeing. Emotionally, it is also really helpful to have people around you going through the same experience.

“WaterBumps classes will officially launch in Swindon on 8 January and we will be organizing some taster classes the week before. As we launch, we will just be in Swindon, but are looking to grow across the region in the following months.”
