The Swindon based crafting group have been busy again with their knitting needles and crocheting hooks to make a Christmas spectacular to delight. The group yarn bombed the road side on Mead Way in Peatmoor outside the Excalibur offices.

The group have been working on the project since mid-November and they have created some beautiful Christmassy characters including a Santa Claus, a snowman, a reindeer, a gingerbread man, several elves as well as robins, baubles, snowflakes, Christmas stockings and Christmas tree bunting.

Tracey Major said “We wanted to yarn bomb something at Christmas, just for the fun of it. We chose that location because we thought we could bring Christmas to it. We wanted to wish Swindon a Merry Christmas as they went on their way.”

The group met as usual at Manor Farm last night, but they all left early to go over to Peatmoor where they began yarn bombing, and creeping about in the dark. Many passing motorists slowed down to see what they were up to in sub-zero temperatures.

Drivers are asked not to look at the Christmas grotto and are reminded to ask their passengers to take photos and show them when their vehicle is no longer in motion, to prevent any unnecessary Christmas stitches.
