Synchro Motorsport, the voluntary race team based at Honda’s Swindon factory, took the chequered flag twice at Snetterton Circuit to continue their fine run of form.
The team travelled to Norfolk to compete in Britcar’s Dunlop Endurance Championship, looking to capitalise on their earlier success at Silverstone in Creventic’s 24HR series back in April.
The Civic Type R, driven by Alyn James and Dan Wheeler, qualified fastest in class on the Saturday and set a lap time three seconds quicker than their qualifying lap at the same track last season.
Alyn James, Team Principal and Driver, said: “The Type R felt great all weekend and by setting a brilliant fast lap in qualifying, we knew we had a good chance entering race day.”
The Swindon-based team took full advantage of Saturday’s dry conditions, finishing first in class in both races.
Alyn James added: “To grab not one win, but two is fantastic. We spent a lot of hours in the garage over the winter, so it’s great to reap the benefits and get back up on top of the podium.”
Robin Tremblin, Team Manager, said: “It’s been a dream start to our season. Once again, it was a brilliant team effort; the mechanics provided a brilliant set-up and both drivers were on the pace all weekend.”
The team turns its focus to the Dave Allan Trophy Race at Castle Combe Circuit on Monday 29 May. Tickets are available at www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk
