GreenSquare’s regeneration plan for Culverhay in Cricklade, which includes plans to demolish 65 older properties and replace them with 109 new ones, has been granted planning approval by Wiltshire Council.

The new, energy efficient, and comfortable homes will be a mixture of homes for shared ownership, affordable rent, and outright sale. The development will also:

  • improve the public areas of the neighbourhood;
  • address road safety and parking concerns;
  • ensure that the existing strong sense of community and neighbourliness is carried over into any new areas; and
  • ensure that residents are kept to date every step of the way – and, for those who need to move, making that as easy as possible.

Phil Bowley, Head of Strategic Asset Management at GreenSquare, said: “This is really fantastic news and a huge milestone in this project. It’s now full steam ahead and we will be starting phase one at the development this month (May). This will include demolishing four properties to build eight new ones, which will be a mix of bungalows and houses.

“We will continue to work closely with residents and the town council throughout the whole process, as we work to bring our regeneration plans to fruition and breathe new life into the neighbourhood to benefit both the residents of Culverhay and the wider Cricklade community.”
