Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a girl was assaulted on Moredon Road, near to the Moredon Medical Centre.

The incident happened between 7.30am and 8.10am on Wednesday 25 January 2017.

The 12-year-old pupil was walking to school when a group of boys, believed to be her age but not in uniform, followed her.  One of the boys then grabbed her and punched her twice in the face causing severe bruising.

The group were shouted at by a man, who witnessed the incident;  the boys then ran off and the girl made her way to school.

PC Leila Williams said:  “During this time of the morning there are lots of people around, walking to school and driving to work – someone would have seen something.  If that was you, please come forward.

“Also,  we’d like to speak to the man who shouted at the group.

“And, if anyone else saw or heard anything suspicious in this area at this time, please contact me.”

If you can help with our enquiries please contact PC Leila Williams on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111. Contact can also be made via e-mail:  [email protected]
