Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses after an incident between three people in an Old Town newsagents.

Just before 12.30pm today (Wednesday 18 January 2017) officers were called to Victoria News, Victoria Road.

It’s reported that a man, who had been assaulted, ran in to the shop asking for help, he was followed by a man and a woman.

The man was taken to hospital with what’s believed to be non-life threatening or changing injuries.

Det Insp Simon Childe said:   “We would like to speak to anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in the Victoria Road area around this time today.

“I would like to reassure local people that we believe this was not a random attack and we are putting on extra patrols in this part of Swindon.
“Detectives will also be making enquiries in the local area.”

If you can help with our enquiries please contact Swindon CID on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
