Police are appealing for information following a burglary at a farm in Marlborough in which a distinctive horse carriage was stolen.

The incident happened at a farm on the Barbury Castle Estate between 7pm on 13 December and 6.15am on 14 December.

Workshops on the site were broken into and a Hartland pony carriage was stolen. A Land Rover parked on the site was also broken in to and power tools were stolen from inside including a chainsaw, power drills and binoculars. A two wheel AV trailer was stolen from outside, possibly used to facilitate the other items stolen from the site.

PC Teresa Herbert said: “We are carrying out a thorough investigation into this incident which saw a number of expensive items stolen, including a very distinctive pony carriage worth approximately £2,500. We believe the offenders may have used a trailer from the farm to help transport the items away from the site.

“We’d like to hear from anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area overnight between 13 and 14 December, as well as anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of these items. The carriage in particular is very distinctive and would have been difficult to conceal.”

If you have information please call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
