Pass My Parcel helps keep Swindon’s homeless warm this Christmas

Parcel collection service, Pass My Parcel, is getting into the spirit of Christmas by donating 200 items of clothing to homeless people across Swindon.

The company will be in Swindon on Thursday evening handing out 200 items of winter clothing to homeless people across the town.

The event is taking place from 3pm onwards at Princes Street car park, near The Wyvern Theatre & Arts Centre.

Employees at Pass My Parcel and its sister brands – newspaper and magazine wholesaler Smiths News and coffee company Jack’s Beans – have been busy collecting winter clothes, which will be distributed at Princes Street car park, near The Wyvern Theatre & Arts Centre on Thursday 22nd December from 3pm onwards.

The initiative is part of a national campaign, named ‘Pass It On’, in which 5,000 items of clothing will be donated to the homeless in various UK cities throughout December.

Jonathan Bunting, MD of Smiths News and owner of Pass My Parcel explained:
“According to Homeless UK, approximately 3,500 people sleep rough every single night across the UK. Our ‘Pass It On’ campaign is helping raise awareness of this issue and is a great way to give something back to the community this Christmas time.

“The impact of a hot drink or warm coat is immeasurable to a person in need and we’re hoping this will go someway to helping the homeless in Swindon. Our teams have been really eager to get involved and we’ll also be giving out supplies to help those in need through the winter in the city centre.

The ‘Pass It On’ campaign is Pass My Parcel’s biggest Christmas charity campaign ever, and it is the first time the company has worked alongside Smiths News and Jack’s Beans in this capacity.

Jonathan added:
“It’s been a real team effort from everyone and I’m really proud of this campaign. I sincerely hope our donations will make the lives of homeless people across the UK that little bit easier.”

Pass My Parcel offers customers a quick, easy, and convenient way to collect and return parcels direct from a range of retailers around the country.
