Work to widen the eastbound exit slip road of Junction 16 and create a four-lane approach has started this week.
In order to carry out this work, the contractor will close the slip road overnight from 8pm on Monday (28 Nov) to 6am the following morning (29 Nov).
Diversions will be via Junction 15.
This will allow the contractor to move traffic over to the hard shoulder and inside lane of the slip road to create a safe working zone.
The slip road will then be reduced to one lane only after the peak morning period and will be re-opened to two lanes for the evening rush hour.
Although the above work is not expected to cause significant disruption, drivers are encouraged to check before they travel and to allow extra time for their journeys.
Motorists are also reminded of the new temporary 40mph speed restriction across the junction, which also includes the approaches onto the roundabout.
Please take extra care when driving through the roadworks.
More information on the progress of the scheme and details of how the works may affect commuters in the lead up to Christmas are available here.
