Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in the Parks area of Swindon.

The incident happened around 9pm on Tuesday 15 November 2016 in the Kingswood Avenue/Welcombe Avenue area.

The man received a single stab wound to his abdomen with a bladed article.

He was taken to hospital where he is currently in a serious but stable condition.

DI Simon Childe said: “We are appealing for witnesses and would urge anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in this area to come forward.

“Understandably, incidents like this will cause concern amongst the local community.

“I would like to reassure those living in this part of Swindon that we are conducting a thorough and robust investigation in to the incident and putting on extra patrols in the area.”
