We live in a society where there seems to be a pill for everything and doctor surgeries have been increasingly coming under fire for dishing out tablets quicker than you can actually finish your sentence about your ailments.
But one woman in Swindon is on a mission to try and get people in the town to realise that diet is the key to our health and can cure all kinds of illnesses.
Nutritional Therapist Alison Aldred, who lives in central Swindon, runs a business called Nutritionali-Healthy and she’s so passionate about her belief in the healing benefits of food because she has actually been helped herself.
Alison used to suffer with crippling asthma and thanks to her own education in nutritional therapy, is now a very fit woman who no longer struggles with her breathing.
Alison, who is a member of the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), said: “With my help, you can make the right dietary and lifestyle choices to improve how you feel and look. You may have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, polycystic ovarian syndrome, inflammatory arthritis, or irritable bowel syndrome and wonder if this is how you will feel for the rest of your life. But it doesn’t have to be like this. You can make a positive decision for your future health.”
She added: “I see people of all ages and backgrounds and I love seeing the positive changes in people. Food really can heal us and too many people are eating things that are making them ill without realising it.”
