The online retail giant has increased starting hourly rates at the site from £15.30 to £16.10, giving frontline operations employees an extra 80p an hour.
The increase, which came into effect on Sunday 27 September, takes starting annual salaries to £33,488 for full-time employees.
It means workers at the Swindon warehouse could earn approximately £1,660 more each year under the new pay arrangements.
The rise forms part of a nationwide investment in Amazon’s workforce, with tens of thousands of UK employees receiving increases of up to 5.6 per cent.
Starting salaries across the company’s UK operations now range from £31,408 to £33,488, depending on location.
Amazon says its minimum starting pay for frontline operations workers has increased by 44 per cent since 2022.
John Boumphrey, Amazon UK Country Manager, said:
“Our frontline teams are the backbone of our business, and this pay increase reflects that. Starting salaries now exceed £31,000 a year, and we’ll continue investing in our people because they deserve it.
“But pay is only part of what makes Amazon a great place to work. From comprehensive benefits to genuine opportunities to progress – we want every employee to feel valued from the moment they join.
“Whether someone is starting their first role or building a long-term career, there’s a path for them here.”
Alongside the salary increase, Amazon has introduced a new 10 per cent employee discount on eligible groceries and everyday essentials purchased through its website.
The uncapped discount, which launched on Thursday 1 October, applies to products including fresh food, cleaning supplies, nappies and pet food.
Staff are also offered a range of benefits from their first day, including private medical insurance, life insurance, income protection, subsidised meals, free Prime membership and a company pension.
Amazon is continuing to fund training and qualifications through its Career Choice programme, which offers employees up to £3,000 a year towards recognised courses.
More than 30,000 UK employees have taken part since the scheme launched in 2014, including workers pursuing qualifications that could lead to careers outside the company.
The pay rise comes as Amazon continues a wider investment programme in the UK, with £40 billion committed between 2025 and 2027.
The company says more than £15 billion of that investment has already been delivered.
The new £16.10 hourly starting rate at Swindon is above the statutory National Living Wage.
Amazon has not confirmed how many employees at its Swindon fulfilment centre will benefit from the latest increase.
