Edmont was named Retail Project of the Year at the 2026 Fit Out Awards UK for its work on a new boutique for luxury whisky brand The Macallan.
The award recognises the craftsmanship, engineering and technical expertise involved in turning an ambitious architectural design into a finished store at one of the world’s busiest airports.
The boutique, designed by architect Jamie Fobert, features a range of unusual materials and bespoke elements intended to tell the story of The Macallan brand.
Swindon-based Edmont was responsible for taking the concept through technical development, manufacture and installation.
Its teams produced features including curved polished concrete, layered Portland stone walls and copper-clad columns.
A distinctive wave wall made from oak shelving was handcrafted by Edmont’s specialist joinery team.
Delivering the project at Heathrow also presented significant logistical challenges due to the busy and highly secure airport environment.
The project was led by Edmont’s Head of Fit Out, Sophie Anello, alongside project managers Mark Skinner and Steve Fee.
Staff from the company’s Fit Out, Joinery and Mechanical & Electrical divisions were also involved.
Craig Morton, Managing Director at Edmont, said:
“We are incredibly proud to bring this award home. It’s fantastic national recognition for the extraordinary talent we have within our team.
“There is a huge amount of skill behind a project like this. From the people developing solutions to some incredibly complex design challenges, to our craftspeople creating bespoke elements in our workshop and the teams responsible for getting everything installed successfully at Heathrow, it was a real collective effort.
“For us, the award is particularly special because it recognises the people behind the finished project.
“We have some exceptionally talented individuals at Edmont and this is a wonderful acknowledgement of what they can achieve together.”
