Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Royal Wootton Bassett.

At approximately 7.20pm on Wednesday 21 September 2016, a 48-year-old man was walking his dog at the rear of the playing fields which run off Coxstalls, when he was approached by two men who threatened him and demanded he hand over cash.

The victim was not injured, but was understandably shaken. Nothing was stolen.

Both suspects are described as white, aged in their late teens and clean shaven. One had medium brown hair and was of a skinny build, while the second is described as having mousey brown hair and of a slightly stockier build.

The incident is currently being investigated by Swindon CID and they would like to hear from anyway who was in the Coxstalls area between 7pm and 7.30pm on 21 September.

Any witnesses are urged to call 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously if preferred.
