Santa Claus is coming to town on a festive double-decker bus with the launch of a free family event at Orbital.

Taking place on 2nd and 3rd December between 10am and 6pm (Saturday) and 11am and 5pm (Sunday), families are invited to join in the festive fun where they’ll be able to visit Santa’s grotto on wheels and create their own postcard in the Christmas craft workshop, before getting a selfie with the man himself.

Families will also be able to enjoy a range of seasonal treats from the food stalls including Wanna Pull – pulled port, turkey and beef sandwiches, and Complete Waffle.

Jamie Turner, centre manager at Orbital, said: “This year Santa has swapped his sleigh for some wheels, and we can’t wait to see the look on our shoppers’ faces when they see our big red bus parked up.

“While on board, our team of little helpers will be encouraging children to decorate their postcards which they can either take them home or give to Santa to take back to the North Pole.

“Christmas is all about spending time with the your nearest and dearest, so we’re pleased to be offering all the family the chance to enjoy a range of free, creative festive activities.”

The events will run on a first come, first serve basis so people are encouraged to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
