Woman in military uniform flips car onto its roof closing Croft Road

Croft Road was closed earlier today, while the emergency services attended a car that had collided with a phone box and overturned in the road.

A number of eye witnesses told a Swindon 24 reporter at the scene that the female driver was in full military uniform.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We received a call at 2pm reporting that a car had overturned at the scene.”

“Traffic [was] being diverted away from the scene while the vehicle is made safe and there [was] a closure in place near to Newport Street.”

A phone box and post box have been damaged as a result of the incident.

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called Croft Road at 2pm. The female patient, in her 20s, suffered minor injuries and was taken home by a paramedic in a rapid response car.”
